[To Download and Install:
- Go to www.adobe.com and
click "Get Adobe Flash Player" button.
- When you get to download page, uncheck the Google Toolbar
install checkbox. Then check the box, "I agree to the Adobe
Flash Player Terms..."
- If in Internet Explorer click Install now, A dialog box will
appear click Run or Install. When its done the flash player
movie will play.
- If in Mozilla Firefox click download, and save it to the
desktop. Close Mozilla completely, then double click the install
icon on desktop. When its complete then press finished. Open
Mozilla Firefox and your done. It is also safe for you to delete
the flash player file.
To Download and Install:
- Go to www.adobe.com and
click get Adobe Reader Button. Then click Download Now. You can
either save the file or click run. Then follow the onscreen
instructions.
- Note MUST have DVD capable CD Drive*
- While your computer is on, insert the Windows Vista DVD
- Reboot your computer
- On the Boot Screen, press F12
- On Boot menu choose CD-ROM Drive, to boot from the DVD
- When it has finished loading click Install Now
- Answer a few questions
- You will get to a screen that says choose a partition
- Highlight the partition that you would like to install Vista
on
- Then click Format
- When finished click install
- When the install is done Vista will start
- Answer a few more startup questions and your done
- Find the latest defs.ref from www.lavasoft.de and download it to Desktop\Autopatcher\
- Extract Desktop\Autopatcher\defs.zip to Desktop\pebuilder314-beta\plugin\adawarese\files\
- Find the latest superdat file from ftp.mcneese.edu\mcafee and download it to Desktop\Autopatcher
- Delete all files in Desktop\pebuilder314-beta\plugin\mcafee\files
- Copy Desktop\Autopatcher\sdatxxx.exe to Desktop\pebuilder314-beta\plugin\mcafee\files
Note: Use the following commands in the command prompt:
- cd Desktop\pebuilder314-beta\plugin\mcafee/files
- sdatxxx.exe /e
Note: The following steps are not to be used in the command prompt
- Go to the mcafee website and search for stinger download. If there is a newer version, replace the one for the Bard image
- Run the file Desktop\pebuilder314-beta\pebuilder314.exe
Note: All the build information should be as follows:
Note: ONLY MAKE AN ISO IMAGE
- Source should be C:\cabs\XP-SP2
- Custom should be C:\Documents and Settings\faculty\Desktop\Autopatcher
- Output should be Bart PE
- ISO/CD should be C:\Documents and Settings\faculty\Desktop\pebuilder.iso\pebuilder.iso
- Burn to CD
Insert DataStudio CD into computer
Click Install DataStudio
Click Next
Click Yes
Click Next
Uncheck WavePort
Click Next
Click Finish
Run DataStudio
Type in serial number
Type in liscense key
Click Apply
Click Close
Note: Steps should be followed in the order they appear
Redo Partitions:
- Set computer to boot from CD
- Insert a System Rescue CD
- Enter
- Type startx and press Enter
- Open GParted
- Delete existing partition(s)
Note: Create Vista partition first
- Click New
- Set size to 12GB
- Change filesystem to ntfs
- Set as primary partition
Note: Create XP partition second
- Click New
- Set size to 8GB
- Change filesystem to ntfs
- Set as primary partition
Note: Create Linux Swap partition next
- Click New
- Set size to 2GB
- Change filesystem to linux-swap
- Set as primary partition
Note: Create Linux partition last
- Click New
- Set size to 8GB

Installing Windows XP
- Insert Windows XP CD

Installing Windows XP Drivers
- Insert Dell Driver CD

- Select No, not this time
- Click Next
- Select Install from a list or specific location

Preparing Clean Image(drivers only):
Note: Only do this after drivers have been installed

- Enter the Subnet Mask you wish to use
- Select No
- Leave default of 9000
- Select /dev/hda
- Leave blank
- Select no compression
Note:ONLY CONTINUE WHEN OTHER COMPUTERS ARE RECIEVING
- Start sender
Ghosting with UDP CDs(recievers):
Note: The sender should not be sending out the image until the recievers are recieving
- Insert UDP Cast CDs into the computers the image will be sent to
- Restart the computers so that they boot from CD
Note: Sometimes the computer must be shut down and then turned back on for this to work
Note: Once it has booted from the CD, the CD can be removed and used to set up another computer
- Select English
- Select United States
- Select OK
- Select OK
- Select OK
- Select No
- Enter the IP Address you wish to use
- Enter the Subnet Mask you wish to use
- Select No
- Leave default of 9000
- Select /dev/hda

Note: This FAQ is for Microsoft Outlook, not Microsoft Outlook Express
Setup a new email account:
- Open Outlook
- Go to the Tools menu
- Go to E-mail Accounts
- Under E-mail, select Add a new e-mail account
- Click Next
- Select POP3
- Click Next
Note: Fill in your information as follows
User Information:
- Name: First Last
Note: Email Address should be first initial added to the beginning of last name
- E-mail Address: flast@mcneese.edu
Server Information:
- Incoming mail server(POP3): mail.mcneese.edu
- Outgoing mail server(SMTP): mail.mcneese.edu
Logon Information:
- User Name: flast
- Password: Check/Uncheck Remember password
Note: Select at your on disgression. Checking Remember password is NOT recommended by the ACC
- Click More Settings...
- Look under the General tab
- Mail Account: FirstName's McNeese Email
- Look under the Connection tab
- Select Connect using my local area network(LAN)
- Look under the Advanced tab
Server Port Numbers:
- Incoming server(POP3): 110
- Outgoing server(SMTP): 25
Server Timeouts: Set to 1 minute
- Click OK
- Click Next

- Go to the Tools menu
- Go to Options
- Look under the Options tab
- Person Names: Uncheck Enable the Person Names smart Tag
Edit existing email account:
- Open Outlook
- Go to the Tools menu
- Go to E-mail Accounts
- Under E-mail, select View or change existing e-mail accounts
- Click Next
- Select the email address you wish to change
- Click Change...

Delete an email account:
- Open Outlook
- Go to the Tools menu
- Go to E-mail Accounts
- Under E-mail, select View or change existing e-mail accounts
- Click Next
- Select the email address you wish to delete
- Click Remove
- Click Finish
Recieve email automatically:
- Open Outlook
- Go to the Tools menu
- Go to Options
- Click the Mail Setup
- Under Send/Recieve check send immediately when connected
- Click Send/Recieve
- Check Schedual on automatic send/recieve every 15 minutes
Note: Do not set your email to anything less than 15 minutes. The mail server will suffer if you do
- Click OK
Inbox at startup:
- Open Outlook
- Go to the Tools menu
- Go to Options
- Click the Other
- Under General click Advanced Options...
- Under General Settings set Startup in this folder to Inbox
Add a contact:
- Open Outlook
- Click File
- Click New
- Click Contact and type in the contact's information
- Click Contacts...
- Make sure Contacts is selected under Look in
- Click Apply
- Click Ok
- Click Save and Close
Delete a contact:
- Open Outlook
- Click Go
- Click Contacts and select the contact which needs to be deleted
- Click the Delete icon, which is represented as a black x located near the print icon
Editing a contact:
- Open Outlook
- Click Go
- Click Contacts
- Double click on the contact that needs to be edited
- Edit the information accordingly
- Click Save and Close
For Outlook Users:
- Open Outlook
- Go to and click on Tools tab in the file menu.
- Go down the drop-down menu and click on Email Accounts.
- Click on "View or change existing accounts," then click
next.
- Then click on the account that you would like to change.
- Click CHANGE.
- In the Window that comes up click the More Settings button.
- Then Click on the Advanced Tab.
- Under this Tab you should see the setting to Leave messages
on the server. Check or Uncheck the box.
- Click Ok or Close to exit the settings.
For Outlook Express Users:
- Open Outlook Express
- Click Tools in the file menu and select Accounts
- Click the Mail Tab and click once on the Expedient Email
Account in the account window to highlight it, then click the
Properties button
- In the Account Properties, click the Advanced Tab
- Check the box beside "Leave a copy of messages on server"
- Click OK and OK. Click the Close button on the accounts
window
For Thunderbird Users:
- Open Thunderbird
- Click Tools in the file menu and select Account Settings
- Under your account name click on server settings
- Check the box next to "Leave messages on server"
- You can also set how many days those messages should stay on
the server or if the messages should be deleted on server when
you delete them in Thunderbird
- When done, click OK
